I Told You So: Episode 1 or My Nightmare about the breast milk

Itsa series, I'm serious!!! Right here OMG don't miss out.

Last year, I got Preston flashlights for his birthday. Yes. I was pregnant. Excellent ideas happen during pregnancy. These will be great during a storm, I thought. These flashlights are the bomb, I thought. Our neighbors will be so jealous, especially that guy with the generator.

So last night, this storm hits. Power's out. And the wind is blowing so hard I think there might be a tornado outside except I don't really know what that sounds like so I wasn't sure enough to get out of bed, only sure enough to wake Preston up and make him google it.

It wasn't a tornado.

Thank goodness.

But the power was out and all I could think about was 1. The frozen breast milk and 2. All that baby food I made from scratch. Ha, did you think it was my SAFTY? Don't be silly. (Mommy guilt disclaimer: Charlie was at Preston's parents house last night, where there is a generator.)

Even though I KNOW a freezer will stay cold for several hours, we set an alarm to wake up two hours from that time. If the power was still out, we'd grab the breast milk and baby food and "transport" it to Preston's parents house (because of the generator).

We then fall asleep. I dream that we wake up having missed the alarm, it's morning, the power is out, the breast milk is melted and I turn Godzilla mean because MAN it was hard to get that breast milk! And then I REALLY wake up, we've missed the alarm, it's morning... But of course the breast milk is still frozen because its only been like five hours.

So anyway, what I'm trying to say is these flashlights are awesome. I guess I've gotten used to just using my iPhone as a light in the dark, or that tiny keychain flashlight someone gave me at a football game, but these things were like torches. Like light up the whole room bright.

I told you flashlights were a good birthday present.

Yes, this post makes sense. It does.
