5 am and I are good friends now.

I thought I would sleep in this morning since Charlie stayed at his grandparents' house last night.

Hello 5:49 am! Didn't I see you yesterday? I think I did. So Charlie has programed me into a 5am-er.

We hosted a super bowl party last night. It was very impromptu, considering I sent a text invite to a few friends on Friday, inviting them to watch the puppy bowl and maybe there was a football game on too, wasn't sure. They all thought they were supposed to bring their dogs.

This party also gave me a chance to use the cookware and serving dishes that Preston brought to our marriage - a blue and white Cowboys logo crock pot from 1972, A football shaped chip and dip and,  for lack of a better word, a bowl that is the true to life size and shape of a football helmet, a Cowboys football helmet. When I made the joke I had been planning once I started setting the food out - You mean the Cowboys aren't playing in the Super Bowl? - no one laughed. Except me. I laughed. Because it was funny.

I don't think I watched football at all, which is pretty much on par with every football game ever. We (the girls) talked about weddings and bridal showers, watched the babies play together and drank sangria. At one point, we noticed that the boys had moved outside to watch the game on the patio TV, so we went outside to be with them.

Then they, very quietly, moved inside to the living room. We got the picture. Well, I wanted to test it and see if they would move again, but the other girls got the picture.

It was a fun night with friends. Sometimes I can't believe there are so many people in Nacogdoches that I know, like and want to hang out with. When I first realized that I would live in this town nine years ago, I didn't think I would have any friends. But I do, and before this turns into a different blog post, I will say good day. It's time to flip between Good Morning America and The Today Show.
