Kayaking Hanalei River

We spent Tuesday morning kayaking a river that runs along the side of the main road into a wildlife refuge.

First we paddled inland, toward the one car bridge that is the turn around point. We almost made it, but turned around a bit early.

That is when we discovered how much easier it is to kayak downstream!

This river let out into Hanalei Bay, so we stopped there for a rest before heading in. All in all, a three hour tour.

We then grabbed lunch in town and headed back to the house for a nice long nap in the shade.
