Beach Life

Day Two was definitely a Blevins day.  We drove around the entire island.  Guide book?  Who needs a guide book when you're a Blevins?  We just know where all the good stuff is naturally.  Preston was our tour guide, he drove on the left side of the road all day!  First we headed out toward the peninsula, a six mile drive that weaves in between the Atlantic and Caribbean oceans.  The road is dotted with small beaches and bars and potholes.  As Preston said, "Sometime, you hit the potholes... sometimes the potholes hit you."  I believe one of these pictures is on the deck of the Shipwrecked bar and grill.  No electricity out this way so this bar ran off a generator.  The owner said the bar was practically washed away in Hurricane Omar but they have built it back.  Live music here tomorrow so we will be back!  We pulled into an area marked "Beach Life."  It was lined with a row of small shacks.  Gayle thought they had been abandoned after the hurricane, but then we saw a woman get dropped off at one of them... she was going to work.

Sometimes the potholes DO hit you! Observation: Internet but no running water? Where are you getting online?
