Variety, Various, Variate!

I've decided that the Food Fan Club needs to be supplemented with a few other things besides food.  I came to this decision last night, while looking at the dinner I prepared for myself from the example rotary diet the doctor gave me.  Not so appetizing.  Ground beef with chopped bell peppers, sauteed mushrooms and a baked potato.  Not bad for my first try, but not a pretty picture and definitely not something you would choose if not necessary.

I've been on this rotation diet for three days, and really, this was my first try.  Something clicked last night and I now feel an urgency to follow this diet strictly.  This is a very different attitude than the "&*%$ Allergies" one I had all last week.  For example, on Day 1, I was supposed to eat blueberries with soy yogurt for breakfast, but instead, I had cookie dough soy ice cream with chocolate sauce.  Really, I would have messed up anyway because I don't think soy was listed for Day 1 and it was peach flavored yogurt, and peaches were definitely not listed for Day 1.  So I guess we can say that I am now back from that ledge.  Today is a shellfish day... Maybe we will get something good out of that.  I'm thinking scallops.

I used to blog about lots of things, but my food obsession took over.  I think it's time for a few of my other obsessions to shine.  If this diet should teach me anything, other than how to eat without wheezing allergicly, it should be to pay attention to variety.

I will get to work on my list of acceptable things to blog about that food lovers/Katie lovers may be interested in and get back to you.  But just to show you that there is more to me than semi-okay cooking, here is a picture from our first wedding anniversary.  Pres and I were married in Dallas and celebrated with our friends and family at the Dallas Museum of Art.  My favorite part about the museum was the Chihuly glass flowers in the atrium.  They go all the way up to the ceiling.  We took this picture, like I said, during a trip to Dallas for our first wedding anniversary.  This also happened to be the same weekend of the Immigrint Rights Marches in 2006.  The streets of Dallas were filled with thousands of people, so many that we couldn't get to the hotel we had originally booked and were "forced" to shell out a few extra bucks to stay at the same hotel where we spent our wedding night, the Crescent Court.  It wasn't exactly the same though, because when we booked the DMA for the reception they "threw in" a suite at the Crescent Court, which we dubbed The Rock Star Hotel Room.  You could easily imagine Areosmith lounging on the modern leather couch after just throwing a TV out the window.

I've got lots of stories.
