Books, Politics, Time Travel and Babies - but not really politics, no, not really
"... It was more than a smile; his face was transformed with the happiness that's reserved for those who are finally allowed to reach all the way up."
Pretty striking quote from Stephen King's 11/22/63. I read this book a while ago and was totally sucked in. For me, it was one of those books that you just have to read in one sitting. It was right up my alley of guilty pleasures literature - time travel AND historical fiction, BAM all in one. Plus that creepy Stephen King feeling that some big bad is lurking right around the corner.
When I told people how much I enjoyed this book, they shot back at me with criticism. People told me that 11/22/63 was Stephen King's anti whatever political agenda in print. To be far, I understand. The book is about John F. Kennedy's death and weather or not the main character can stop it through time traveling. There's going to be something political about it.
But when I read it, I just saw a capturing story. It's fiction, ya'll! Even if it was intended as a political agenda, it's doesn't mean you enjoy it less!
Oh My GOSH I've missed reading. Have I mentioned my Kindle (paper white) ?? I seriously feel like a twelve year old that just walked up to a Barnes and Noble cashier with seven Christopher Pike books and my mom just said, "No, put three of those back," and I said, "But MAHHHMOM!"
No, that didn't really happen.
Ok yes it did.
Several times.
Like all the time.
Here, look at this cute picture of my baby.

Five things That make this Christmas rock socks, like big snugly knitsocks with snowflakes on them.
1. Charlie has been wearing red Christmas outfits all month. I've had to use great restraint not to buy more. He's going to rock them until they fall apart or don't fit. My favorite one is a little red and green plaid smocked Jon Jon that I bought at a children's consignment store for five dollars. HOLLA. It might have smelled like cats and attic before i washed it, but you can still raise the roof to it. You'll see it later in a post titled Charlie's Christmas Ensemble 2012. Read ensemble with a fancy French accent.
2. Leggings. I boycott waistbands during the holidays (July through December). That used to mean skirts or dresses, but you can't really get crunk on the floor and help your baby open presents in a skirt. Enter leggings. Again, thank you Mary Kate and Ashley. I'm sure you had something to do with the leggings thing.
3. KINDLE PAPER WHITE!!! It just makes books more exciting. I already loaded mine up with samples. I love my kindle paper white. I love Kindles.
4. My friend Lisa at Texas Sized Bling has made shirts to support long term counseling for the Sandy Hook elementary kids and their families. Lisa is a survivor of the Columbine High School shooting. It inspires me that she has shared her experience and created a unique way for people to support Sandy Hook elementary and Columbine High School. I already bought one! For more info about the shirts, find Texas Size Bling on Facebook or go to www.texasbling.com.
5. Boots. Brown, beautiful leather boots. I can't wait to wear them with EVERYTHING. Everything, I say.

Reality TV shows that I've been sucker punched into watching
Teen Mom 2. This is different from Teen Mom 1. Different moms. They cra cra. Basically, it goes like this: Oh my gosh, she's so alone! That guy is a jerk! Aww, sweet baby... Whow, Janelle got arrested?? Again? Now she can't go to that Ke$ha concert! Why is he always playing video games?? Aaww, look at that baby...
Catfish. Like the movie. So if you're gonna have an Internet relationship with someone, just know in advance that they don't look like what they say they look like so don't trick them into revealing themselves to you on TV because you just look dumb.
Hotel Impossible / Restaurant Impossible. Hey dummy, do you know anything about hotels? No? Then why do you own one?? And it's dirty!! Anthony's got his black light kit and he's going to town on your comforters!! Now he's got a device that measures how much bacteria is on your phones!!! Ohh Noooo!
Trip Flip. You don't know me, but come go on vacation with me for three days and do everything I say and it will be FREE! Bahahaha!! <-- That's an evil Dr. Burns laugh.
You know you watch them. Even if you don't do it on purpose, sometimes the TV lands on one and you forget how to turn it off because it only takes one second for the reality TV brain eating aliens to get you.
